Getting Started with GL.iNet Mudi¶
Model: GL-E750
1. Insert a MicroSD Card and a SIM Card into Mudi¶
1 ) Turn to the backside of Mudi.
2 ) Poke your finger into the hole near the edge of the lid.
3 ) Slide along the edge.
4 ) When the lid slightly goes up (from around 25 degrees to 30 degrees or so), pull it up for the opening.
5 ) Insert the card into the card slot as suggested by the symbol near the corner.
6 ) Press the lid down to close the cover plate.
2. Power on¶
For GL-E750 with built-in battery, press the power button to turn on the device.
When Mudi's power is off, you can still check the battery status by clicking the power button. The LED screen will show battery status when you click the power button.
You can also plug the Micro USB power cable into the power port of the router to power on the device. That will also charge the built-in battery.
Make sure you are using a standard 5V/2A power adapter. Otherwise it may cause malfunction.
Note: Hot plugging for SIM card and TF card is not supported. If you want to use, please insert before powering on the router.
3. Power Off¶
Press the power button for 5 seconds to turn off the device. When you press the the power button for 3 seconds, the OLED screen will show Standby Mode On first. KEEP PRESSING the power button, you will see Shut Down under the Standby Mode On and it will countdown 3 seconds and turn off the device.
4. Standby Mode¶
In Standby Mode, the GL-E750 will turn off Wi-Fi and 4G to save power. You can't connect to GL-E750 Wi-Fi in this mode.
Press the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the Standby Mode, you will see Standby Mode On on the OLED screen.
Also, press the power button for 3 seconds to turn off the Standby Mode, you will see Standby Mode Off on the OLED screen.
5. Connect¶
You can connect to the router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
Note: This step only connects your devices to the local area network (LAN) of the router. You cannot access the Internet currently. In order to connect to the Internet, please finish the setup procedures below and then follow Internet to set up an Internet connection.
Connect via LAN¶
Connect your Mudi to docking station first and then connect your device to the LAN port of the docking station via Ethernet cable.
Connect via Wi-Fi¶
Search for the SSID of the router in your device and input the default password: goodlife.
Note: The SSID was printed on the bottom label of the router with the following format:
- GL-E750-XXX
6. Access the web Admin Panel¶
Open a web browser (we recommend Chrome, firefox) and visit http://192.168.8.1. You will be directed to the initial setup of the web Admin Panel.
1) Language Setting¶
You need to choose the display language of the Admin Panel. Currently, our routers support English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano 日本語, 한국어 and Русский.
Note: If your browser always redirects to LuCI (http://192.168.8.1/cgi-bin/luci), you can visit: http://192.168.8.1/index instead of http://192.168.8.1.
2) Admin Password Setting¶
There is no default password for the Admin Panel. You have to set your own password, which must be at least 5 characters. Then, click Submit
to proceed.
Note: This password is for this web Admin Panel and the embedded Linux system. It will not change your Wi-Fi password.
3) Admin Panel¶
After the initial setup, you will enter the web Admin Panel of the router. It allows you to check the status and manage the settings of the router.
