Hardware info¶
GL-M2 is a 5G development board for DIY enthusiasts who would like to build their own routers and modems. With GL-M2's 5G Module and 5G antennas, it provides a quality 5G cellular network.

The package includes:
- 1 x GL-M2 Development Board
- 4 x 5G Antennas
- 4 x IPEX Connectors
- 2 x Screws
- 1 x DC Power Adapter
- 1 x Universal Plug Adapter (US, EU, UK & AU)
- 1 x 5G Module (Optional)
- 1 x Type-C Cable
First-time setup¶
Watch this video or follow the steps below.

Install the module and the antenna.
Use an RF conversion extension cable or an SMA antenna connection cable to connect the antenna to the IPEX interface on the module.

Insert the Nano SIM card.

Power up.
Connect to a DC power supply and use a Type-C to USB 3.0 data cable to connect to the router or other device.

Note:

During use, it is necessary to connect to a DC power supply to provide a stable power source.

When the power indicator light is lit in red, it indicates a functioning power supply.
Connect M2 to GL.iNet routers¶
GL-M2 (with 5G module RM520N-GL installed) is compatible with the following models:
- Slate 7 Pro (GL-BE10000)
- Brume 3 (GL-MT5000)
- Beryl 7 (GL-MT3600BE)
- Flint 3e (GL-BE6500)
- Flint 3 (GL-BE9300)
- Slate 7 (GL-BE3600)
- Flint 2 (GL-MT6000)
- Flint (GL-AX1800)
- Beryl AX (GL-MT3000)
- Slate AX (GL-AXT1800)
- Brume 2 (GL-MT2500)
Note: The compatible router list above is validated with the RM520N‑GL 5G module. Compatibility with other modules is not guaranteed.
Follow the steps below to connect the M2 to your GL.iNet router.

Connect the M2 to a GL.iNet router using a USB cable.

Connect a device (such as a computer or laptop) to the GL.iNet router using an Ethernet cable.

On your device, open a web browser, go to http://192.168.8.1 and log in to the web Admin Panel.

On the INTERNET page, click Auto Setup in the Cellular section to connect to the Internet.

Once connected successfully, the page will display the connection details as shown below.
